We take our social responsibility and climate footprint seriously and have started a journey towards making STEFFCA more sustainable. We are in an industry that is not very green, yet we focus

constantly on making our choices as sustainable as possible. We work actively with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and on the following four in particular:

Donation to Ukraine
It is terrible what is going on in Ukraine, and it affects us all that there is now a war in Europe. The Red Cross says that what they want most is money, as the shopping list for Ukraine is long (food, water, warm clothes, shelter, cash for the tens of thousands of families on the run, as well as support and equipment for hospitals and clinics).

We have listened to this at STEFFCA, where employees and the company have donated a total of DKK 70,000. We hope that our humble donation will make a small difference for some of the Ukrainians who are on the run from the horrors of war.

Donation face masks and face shields
The Covid-19 pandemic has been a major challenge in many countries. It has had major consequences, particularly in those countries that do not have an effective healthcare system.

At STEFFCA, we have therefore decided in co-operation with Danish Red Cross to donate in total 150.000 face masks and 91.000 face shields. Because, as Anders Ladekarl, Danish Red Cross, says: “The world is not safe until the virus is defeated in all countries – so in the end, it is also in our interest to contribute to the fight other places. No one is safe before all is safe”.

We consider it a corporate social responsibility to make room for everybody at STEFFCA.

Therefore, we have established a corporation with the municipality of Nyborg where we offer development and definition of the workability for persons facing difficulties joining the labor market.

We have a mentor attached to handle these employees as we see it as our responsibility to develop and help each person further on.

Furthermore, we offer sheltered jobs and flexible working hours to employees who have faced a decrease in workability due to illness. This is done to retain our employees for as long as possible to our company.

STEFFCA encourages all employees to participate in a weekly walking team, in addition, all employees are offered daily fruits and vegetables.

All employees are registered with health insurance. We have done this to give our employees the best options if they need treatment. All employees are also offered influenza vaccination, as the disease can be extra serious for some.

We heat our administration building with district heating, which has reduced our total CO2 consumption for heating by 13%.

We heat our production halls primarily with surplus heat from our machinery, which has significantly reduced our heat consumption.

We have replaced most of our lighting with LED lights to reduce carbon emissions. In fact, LED lights to use up to 85% less energy than the old, traditional incandescent bulbs.

In the long term, we expect to replace all our six company cars with electric cars. We currently have three hybrid cars.

We want to make it as beneficial as possible for our employees and customers to drive electric vehicles, which is why we have installed six charging stations at STEFFCA.

We only use electric trucks in our production.

We attach importance to replacing our machinery with new, high-tech models in order to achieve better utilisation of energy and resources.

We encourage the recycling of our packaging by adding a "remember to reuse me" smiley to all shipments out of the house.

To the extent possible, we aim to sort and reduce all our waste. We sort paper, plastic, and cardboard for recycling.

We only use recycled paper.

We encourage fewer travel days by using Teams.

Thank you for your message! We will get back to you as soon as possible.
